Dr. Keith Hansen and his team successfully helped eight patients from Fargo, ND continue their treatment when their clinic was threatened by flood waters. The Fargo patients drove six to eight hours to make it to our clinic to help fulfill their dreams of becoming parents. The patients were all in the midst of in vitro fertilization cycles that were started at MeritCare in Fargo. When flood waters threatened the Reproductive Endrocrinology clinic in Fargo where the patients would have been undergoing the rest of their treatment cycle, the patients either had to cancel their cycle and face the frustration and devastation of losing their dream of conceiving, or transfer their care to finish the cycle. Because Dr. Hansen and his staff were the only other experts in the region, the RE’s from Fargo requested our help in continuing care for their patients. Behind the scenes, the patient representatives, nurses, PA, embryologist and lab staff worked extra long hours to accommodate Fargo patients while continuing to see current Sanford patients. This was a huge honor to have another physician trust his patients to continue their care with Dr. Hansen and his team of experts.
