Sanford Clinic Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Sanford Clinic Maternal-Fetal Medicine is located on the fourth floor in Medical Building 3 on the Sanford USD Medical Center Campus. They offer a comprehensive range of personalized high-risk obstetrical care, fetal diagnosis and treatment services for women.

Interdisciplinary Team/Integrated Care

Sanford Clinic Maternal-Fetal Medicine works in conjunction with physicians and highly trained staff from multiple specialties to provide medical consultations, patient counseling and education, diagnostic testing and procedural techniques tailored to support each patient's individual care plan. Our physicians and staff also coordinate care with neonatal care experts, including Neonatologists and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. An intensive care nursery and specialists in high-risk obstetrics and pediatrics are available 24 hours a day.

Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists

Jeffrey G. Boyle, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Boyle is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Dr. Boyle specializes in the most sensitive procedures used to protect the health of mothers and their unborn babies including: prenatal diagnosis, fetal therapy, amniocentesis, CVS, fetal transfusion and targeted ultrasounds.

Peter Van Eerden, MD, received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University Hospitals. His clinical and research fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine was completed at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also earned a Master's of Science in Biostatistics and Clinical Research Methods at Columbia University.

Michael McNamara, DO, received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA and completed his fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Dr. McNamara recently retired from the US Navy after serving as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist for 11 years and as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Director for eight years at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA. Dr. McNamara is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is board certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
